Recently, there was a remarkable moment in British royalty, with Prince William attending an official event in the company of his aunt, Lady Sarah Spencer, sister of the late Princess Diana.
This event followed an invitation from Earl Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother, to Prince Harry and his family to spend the Christmas holidays in the UK.
Prince William has maintained a busy royal schedule, especially after his wife, Kate Middleton, announced the conclusion of her cancer treatment.
On Thursday, September 12, he represented King Charles at the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Air Force (RAF) College in Cranwell, Lincolnshire.
This event marked an important milestone in his commitment to royal duties, reflecting his growing role and visibility in the British royal family.
At this parade, Prince William attended alone but was accompanied by his aunt Lady Sarah McCorquodale, who at the age of 69 decided to support him on such a significant occasion.

According to journalist Rebecca English of the Daily Mail, Lady Sarah heard that William was in the area and decided to accompany him, signaling the strength of family ties at times of public engagement.
In a video shared by English on X, Lady Sarah is seen in the background as Prince William interacted at a post-parade reception, chatting with graduating officers and their families about their experiences at RAF Cranwell and their career aspirations.

William, in his address to the new graduates, also made reference to his own training at RAF Cranwell, which highlighted his personal connection to the institution.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Lady Sarah has supported her nephew at military events; she had already been present at Prince William’s winging ceremony in 2008, an occasion that was also attended by Kate Middleton, King Charles, and the future Queen Camilla.
Lady Sarah’s appearance alongside William comes against a tense family backdrop.
Recently, the press reported that Charles Spencer, Lady Sarah’s brother, had extended an invitation to Prince Harry and his family to celebrate Christmas at Althorp House, the historic family residence located in Northamptonshire. In the same place, Prince Harry stayed at his uncle’s request.
It is relevant to mention that Harry made a surprise visit to London at the end of August to attend a religious service in honor of Lord Robert Fellowes, husband of his aunt Jane Fellowes, an event also attended by William, although the brothers did not exchange words.
