The countdown to the coronation of Prince Charles III is underway, but in the midst of planning for this great event, the royal family also has another celebration: the birthday of Princess Charlotte.
The daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales celebrated her eighth birthday on May 2, and as usual, Kensington Palace has shared a recent photo of the little princess, taken by her mother, Kate Middleton.
Princess Charlotte’s 8th birthday picture
The image, captured in Windsor, shows Charlotte wearing a sleeveless white dress by British brand Trotters, with a miniature floral print and textured plumetti detailing. The little princess is seated in a white wicker chair, and smiles mischievously at the camera, showing that she has already lost some of her baby teeth and that others are in the process of changing.
For this occasion Kate wanted to resume the tradition she broke in the photo of Prince Louis’ birthday and as a good passionate photographer was in charge of taking the picture this time, managing to capture the natural beauty and radiant smile of her daughter.
The photo has caused a sensation on the official social networks of the Prince and Princess of Wales where they have congratulated Princess Charlotte on her birthday.
“Wishing Princess Charlotte a very happy birthday! 8 tomorrow 🎈🎂 “, they wrote on Monday, May 1.
Princess Charlotte hugging her dog Orla
This May 2, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted another photo of Princess Charlotte, in thanks for all the good wishes the little princess received on her special day.
This time the photo was taken by photographer Millie Pilkington. In the snapshot Charlotte can be seen hugging her dog, a cocker spaniel named Orla, in the middle of a flower garden. The photo was immediately shared and commented on by thousands of internet users.

Princess Charlotte will be part of the royal procession at the coronation of Charles III, accompanied by her parents and her older brother, Prince George, who will be a page boy. The family will be seated in the carriage following the Gold State Coach in which the new monarch will ride, on a route that goes from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.
While it has not yet been confirmed whether little Louis will take part in the ceremony, it is certain that he will join the family in the traditional salute from the balcony. While many might worry that the little prince might cause a ruckus, his big sister, Princess Charlotte, will keep him under control, as she always does.
