    Princess Diana was one of the most famous figures in the 90’s, she was very loved in many parts of the world. Her tragic death in a car accident has sparked many questions as well as conspiracy theories.

    Many fans of the People’s Princess want to know: how she died, what were Diana’s fatal injuries, if the princess was still alive when she was taken to the hospital, what were her last words. Here are the answers to these questions.

    What were princess Diana’s injuries when she died

    Diana, Princess of Wales died in the early morning of August 31, 1997 when around midnight the car in which she was traveling crashed into one of the pillars of the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris. Her boyfriend, Dodi Al-Fayed, and driver Henri Paul died at the scene. The princess’s bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, was seriously injured but was the only one to survive the accident.

    Why did Princess Diana’s car crash?

    The princess and her boyfriend were being hounded by the paparazzi and in an effort to evade the photographers the driver, Henri Paul who was under the influence of alcohol lost control of the vehicle and crashed at a speed of 120 mph into the tunnel.

    She was still alive: What were Diana’s last words?

    Five minutes after the accident occurred emergency services arrived on the scene. Firefighter Xavier Gourmelon was the one who took over the rescue of the princess and revealed that Diana’s last words were “My God, what happened?”.

    The mother of Prince William and Prince Harry was kept alive while being transported to the hospital, but after 4 a.m. she was pronounced dead.

    What were princess Diana’s injuries that killed her

    Lady Di suffered multiple injuries including a concussion, a cut to her thigh and a broken arm, but the most lethal injury that caused Princess Diana’s death was a serious wound to her chest that tore her pulmonary vein and caused internal bleeding.

    Surgeons made great efforts to save the princess but could not get her heart to beat properly. It should be noted that experts say that if Diana had worn her seat belt, she could have survived the accident. The only survivor was her bodyguard who was wearing a seat belt.
