In 1992, was the year where Princess Diana slapped Prince Harry for having racist behavior toward a bus driver of Indian origin.

Royal correspondent Robert Jobson has written a new book about the British royal family called “Our King: Charles III: The Man and The Monarch Revealed”, according to the author, it examines the life of Charles III, “his passions, purpose and motivations”.

The book is attracting the attention of royal family followers because of the excerpts that are gradually being published in the British media ‘Daily Mail’, which also tells anecdotes revolving around his children and Princess Diana.

Specifically, Jobson unveiled an episode that Diana of Wales experienced with her son, Prince Harry.

Why did Princess Diana slap Harry?

According to Robert Jobson, Lady Di had to slap Harry to stop his racist attitude. The Sunday Times best-selling author has recounted in detail the episode that occurred when the princess’s youngest son was 8 years old.

Diana had arranged for her sons to go on a bus ride as a treat. The plan was organized by her police protection officer, Inspector Ken Wharfe. During the trip, on several occasions, Diana had to tell Harry to stop imitating the bus driver’s pronounced Punjabi accent.

Jobson recounts that the driver was a friendly man wearing a yellow turban who was relaxed about Harry’s attitude. He dismissed it as a childish prank that should be ignored, but Diana was so upset with her son’s attitude that she asked Ken Wharfe to end the trip.

Diana, Inspector Ken, and Princes William and Harry got off at Green Park and immediately afterward, Jobson claims, the princess slapped Harry while telling him, “Don’t you ever do that again.” Harry was forced by his mother to write a letter to Inspector Wharfe to apologize for his behavior and for ruining the day’s outing.

Jobson claims that he spoke in person with Wharfe, who confirmed the incident, and that he had indeed received the letter written by little Harry.

    Is Prince Harry a racist?

The first interview Harry and Meghan gave upon arriving in the United States was to Oprah, where the couple accused a member of their family of racism, whose name they did not reveal. However, many fingers pointed to Charles III.

For Robert Jobson, Charles III would be incapable of making racist comments since “it goes against everything ‘the Boss’ (Charles) believes in, who thinks diversity is the strength of our society.”

The writer calls it shocking that criticism of racism towards his family came from a person like Harry given that “Charles had to defend him when he was forced to apologize for dressing in a Nazi uniform and for videotaping himself making a racist comment to a fellow Sandhurst cadet officer from Pakistan in 2009.”

About his Nazi costume, Harry alleges in his memoir ‘Spare’ that his decision to wear it was influenced by Prince William and his wife Kate, who encouraged him to do so. In the Netflix documentary, the Duke of Sussex said it was one of the biggest mistakes of his life.

About the racist insult towards his fellow cadet, Harry assured in his book that he did not know that the word he said to his good friend Ahmed Raza Kahn was an insult.

Harry says that his father’s office issued an apology on his behalf after the video became public and that he also wanted to issue a statement, but courtiers advised against it because it was not the best strategy. Something that upset the prince a lot.
