Princess Leonor is finishing her first cycle of training at the General Military Academy, after her entrance in August last year.
Recently, the firstborn of the Spanish monarchs, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, was awarded Aragon’s highest decorations, a recognition she highlighted in her emotional speech, reflecting the profound impact this experience has had on her personal and professional development.
With the end of the academic year in sight, the heiress to the throne is preparing for a well-deserved rest.
However, her commitment to military training remains unwavering, as she is currently intensely engaged in a specialized training program.
Princess Leonor’s last training
In a show of commitment and prowess, Princess Leonor of Asturias continues her participation in the military maneuvers which, according to the official calendar of the Military Academies, will run until Friday, June 7.
The Spanish press reports that the culmination of these maneuvers is scheduled for June 19, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the proclamation of His Majesty King Felipe VI.
The Campo de San Gregorio has been the venue for the first phase of these exercises, a place already familiar to the princess due to her participation in previous training.
However, the second phase will move to the mountains of Navaleno, in the Spanish region of Soria, a terrain that presents unique and beneficial challenges for the advanced training of the cadets.
El Heraldo de Aragón details that this final phase is crucial for cadets to acquire skills to face the challenges of conventional warfare, focusing on the infantry specialty.
These maneuvers represent Princess Leonor’s last military challenge before her transition to the Naval Military School, marking the beginning of a new phase in her military education.
Finally, the princess will close her training cycle at the San Javier base, following in her father’s footsteps, and thus consolidating a tradition of service and preparation in the Spanish royal family.
