Princess Leonor appeared on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, to lead an institutional event at the Congress of Deputies in Spain, alongside her parents.
The future queen, accompanied by King Felipe and Queen Letizia, attended all the events of this special day.
Leonor had not appeared in public since her intense schedule last October, when she swore her loyalty to the Constitution, the loyalty oath to the flag of Spain, and celebrated her 18th birthday.
For this occasion, the princess wore an autumnal outfit consisting of a flattering green midi-length dress with sleeves, which she combined with a camel-colored coat and bag belonging to her mother, along with high-heeled shoes to complete the look.
Why are they criticizing Princess Leonor’s look at the Congress?
However, despite looking appropriate for an institutional event, her outfit received some criticism.
According to the Spanish press, critics argue that the princess is “a copy of her mother” in terms of style and reject dressing Leonor like “an old lady”.
“Why do they dress her like an old lady?”; “She could dress elegantly without looking so old”; “She needs to find her own style. She’s still young,” wrote some users on social media.
However, others pointed out that she looked great in her outfit and emphasized that it was appropriate for the type of event she attended.
