Although nowadays Queen Letizia has us accustomed to her wonderful style, it was not always so.
During her process of searching for her own style, the plebeian journalist made what fashion experts would qualify as “style mistakes”.
The then Princess of Asturias wore excessive make-up, outdated outfits, and strange combinations at some events.
Thanks to the right advice, the Spanish queen consort is today one of the best-dressed royals in royalty.
Every time she attends an official engagement, she grabs all the attention with her clever fashion choices.
However, here we will review the most unfortunate looks of the mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.
The worst looks of Queen Letizia
Marie Claire magazine has compiled some of the queen’s least flattering outfits during her first years in the monarchy.
1. At a wedding
In 2004, Letizia accompanied the then Prince Felipe to a wedding. The combination of the colors, the design of the skirt, and the styling of the queen undoubtedly left more than one surprised, and not in a good way.
2. Visit to the School of Hospitality Management
Once married to Felipe, Letizia accompanied him to an official event at a hotel school. The princess attended the event wearing this nondescript pink skirt and fitted jacket design.
3. Gala dinner
She is now an expert in looks for gala dinners, but in 2006, Letizia thought it would be a good idea to attend one of these gala events with this green model that she wore again on other occasions.
4. Letizia at a lunch
The satin and shiny fabrics, apparently were her favorite, because in 2008 for a lunch to the “world of culture,” she wore a blue design and prints where this type of fabric stood out again.
5. Military Easter
Also in 2008, the consort wore an unfortunate look for the Military Easter. This olive green oriental-inspired design was not at all flattering to her.
6. Young Entrepreneurs Association
In 2009 the queen surprised more than one by appearing in this exaggerated outfit with which she took the monochromatic style a step further, combining a short dress, stockings, and shoes all in the same dark red color.
7. Military Easter
An unflattering and very memorable design for fashion critics was the one she wore for the 2013 Military Easter.
8. ARCO Fair
For no one is a secret that red is among her favorite colors to wear and that was more than evident with the look she wore in 2018 that was totally combined with this tone.
