A total uproar has occurred in the last few hours. In social networks has gone viral an alleged video of Princess Leonor doing a TikTok dance, the audiovisual is spread under the title “The deleted video of Princess Leonor dancing in TikTok”.

It is no secret to anyone that the internet abounds with fan accounts of Spanish royalty, more specifically of Princess Leonor and her sister Infanta Sofia. The Borbón Ortiz sisters gain followers day after day with every official appearance they make, like the most recent one in Valldemossa.

The alleged video of Princess Leonor on TikTok is false. Specifically it is a deepfake, a technology based on artificial intelligence that allows to manipulate videos and make this kind of montage. The original recording has been taken from the account of a Filipino ‘Tiktoker’.

Through deepfake, it is possible to substitute parts of the face, voice and even the body. By means of this technology, very realistic videos can be created. This type of manipulation abounds on the Internet.

From the Royal Household have affirmed to the portal Maldita.es that they have no record of the existence of any video published by Leonor, Princess of Asturias in TikTok.

There is no doubt that seeing the heiress of the crown on a social network and dancing to the rhythm of music is something that many teenagers would like to see.
