On January 6, the Royal House announced that the Infanta Sofia of Spain, 15, had passed the test to enter the prestigious boarding school UWC Atlantic College in Wales, the same school where Princess Leonor, 17, studies.

The selection process Sofia had to go through was not easy as, out of 3,000 applicants, Atlantic College only selected 20, including the Infanta.

Although few details have been revealed about the evaluation to which the youngest daughter of King Felipe, 55, and Queen Letizia, 50, was subjected, it has been leaked that Sofia had to take the test using a nickname and the Infanta has chosen a very particular one, based on her passion for science fiction.

What was the nickname used by the Infanta Sofia to present the UWC test?

The Infanta Sofia of Spain has chosen ‘Dune’ as her nickname in the entrance exams to enter the UWC Atlantic College. Princess Leonor’s sister chose the name of one of the most acclaimed Science Fiction titles by writer Frank Herbert. The novel is the cornerstone of the 21-book saga set on the planet Arrakis.

‘Dune’ has had two film adaptations, one by David Lynch in 1984 and another by Denis Villeneuve in 2021.

It is no secret that Sofia likes ‘Star Wars’, a close-up of her backpack has revealed some key chains with two figures, one of Yoda, and another of R2-D2.

Little by little the Infanta Sofia makes very clear her style and tastes in science fiction literature, adventure films, and sports where she dreams of joining the C.D. DUX International Madrid Football Academy, a team from Villaviciosa de Odon, registered in the Royal Football Federation of Madrid.
