The British royal family continues to marginalize Prince Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet.
Following their decision in 2020 to abandon royal duties and go public with their disagreements with other members of the royal family, their estrangement from the monarchy has increased.
This trend has continued at every family gathering, with their exclusion being evident, and the summer at Balmoral is a clear example of this.
Harry and Meghan at Balmoral
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been in the news recently due to their absence from the invitations to Balmoral Castle, the summer residence of the British royal family in Scotland.
According to reports from People magazine, this exclusion has been ongoing for several years. Despite the fact that Prince Harry spent many summers at Balmoral during his childhood, there is speculation that Meghan Markle has not had the opportunity to visit the historic Scottish castle.
The Balmoral estate, which covers some 50,000 acres, is known to be a private retreat for the royal family, where they enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. It was also the place where Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022.
Harry and Meghan’s last visit to the UK was for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, where they celebrated their daughter Lily’s first birthday at Frogmore Cottage and later attended the Queen’s funeral.
Since then, Meghan has not returned to England, while Harry has made a few visits, mainly related to legal matters and a personal visit when he learned of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis.
Currently, it is not anticipated that the Sussexes will return to England in the near future, as Harry is focused on ensuring the protection of his family.
As for their future plans, Harry and Meghan are scheduled to make an official trip to Colombia to participate in an event addressing online bullying, an issue they have both actively supported.
In addition, Harry and Meghan are expected to participate in an interview with journalist Jane Pauley for the ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ program, to be aired next Sunday, February 4, where they will talk about this important cause for them.
