Undoubtedly, it has been intense days for the Spanish royal family. Queen Letizia, along with her daughters, has faced a series of key events in the last two months.
Some of these royal commitments include the anniversary of the monarchs’ proclamation, the Princess of Girona Awards, the heir to the throne’s first official trip, and the reception of the Spanish national team players after winning the Euro Cup.
This Tuesday, July 16th, was particularly busy. Felipe, Letizia, and Leonor attended the graduation ceremony of cadets at the Naval Military School.
Among the future students was Princess Leonor, who will join this school in a few weeks to continue her military education.
While much of the media attention focused on Leonor, Letizia was also observed. Dressed entirely in black, the wife of Felipe VI accompanied her daughter on this special day.
Despite her closeness and attention to Leonor, there was a moment that caught everyone’s eye.
What happened to Queen Letizia at the Naval Academy?
According to reports from the Spanish press, towards the end of the event, Letizia exhibited surprising behavior. While observing the students from the platform, the queen had to sit down due to pain.
Although she maintained her smile and acted naturally, her discomfort was evident.
The reason behind this pain is well-known: her injury to the right foot, which exacerbates her Morton’s neuroma.
A few months ago, Letizia revealed that she had fractured one of the phalanges in her foot. Since then, she has opted to wear flat shoes to care for her injury.
The return of pain raises concerns about potential health consequences for the queen.
